Indrayanti Beach , Enjoying “little piece of Bali” at south of Yogyakarta

Not only in Bali we can find a beach with white sand and blue sea. In Gunung Kidul district, Yogyakarta province there are no less beautiful coast with the beaches in Bali. Indrayanti beach offers extraordinary beauty.  This beach is located about 30 km from Jogjakarta (can be reached during the 2 hours of Yogyakarta through road trip). This beach is alongside with Sundak beach as one of newest tourist object at Yogyakarta. The main point from this beach are white sand beach and clean environment. It is different with other beaches at Jogjakarta, like Parangtritis, Parangkusumo,etc.

Indrayanti is not the name of the beach, but the name of the cafe and restaurant owner. Since the name Indrayanti was displayed on the board of this beach cafe and restaurant, eventually people called this beach by the name of Indrayanti Beach. While the government named this beach as Pulang Syawal Beach. But the name of Indrayanti is more popular and more commonly known than Pulang Syawal. The involvement of private parties in the management of Indrayanti Beach apparently helped bring a positive impact. Unlike the other beaches that are rather dirty, the shoreline along Indrayanti Beach looks clean and free from rubbish. This is because the manager does not hesitate to impose a fine of Rp. 10,000 for each waste disposed by tourists carelessly. Therefore Indrayanti Beach becomes a comfortable place to visit.

  

On the shore of Indrayanti beach lay long clean white sand. The water was also very clear so that tourists can see Indrayanti underwater life. Starting from the fishs and coral reefs are complemented by a wide range of towering rock.

Activities that are mostly done at Indrayanti beach are diving, snorkeling, surfing and playing jetsky. All equipment that associated with water sports are available for rent. Having tired of playing in the water, tourists can relax in the gazebo at the edge of the beach while enjoying a meal accompanied by a soothing cool drink.
